Overview

Bandipur National Park, part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, is known for being the second-highest Tiger Reserve in India. The park was previously recognized as the hunting ground of the King of Mysore and now, it’s the well-maintained and protected national parks in India. Expanded over 880 sq km area, the park houses numerous wild lives and vegetation. Located at Gundulpet Taluk, this wildlife reserve is enriched with the beauty of the Western Ghats that can soothe your weary eyes.

When a picturesque landscape combines with rich biodiversity, it attracts the attention of the tourists. Not only that but also the distinct diversity of flora and flora welcomes the zoology students and researchers.

Biodiversity in Bandipur National Park – The park is home to an endless variety of wild animals including Elephants, Tigers, Chitals, Gaurs, Wild Dogs, Giant Squirrel, Black Naped Hare, Wild Pigs, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Four Horned Antelope, numerous specious of beautiful birds, and an infinite range of flora. Some names of the species of birds are Junglefowl, Yellow-footed green pigeons, Gray Heron, Spotbill, White-spotted fantail, Chestnut-headed, Egret, Fairy bluebird, and so on. The chirping sound of these birds can make you feel like living in a world of magic during the forest visit. Also; one can find a wide variety of reptilian species in Bandipur National Park.
